Working closely with Bailey’s founder, Tom Jago, Espey helped change the product formula so it was stable but not mixable, and ensured the alcohol level allowed it to be advertised on television. The strategy faced resistance, but Espey stayed focused, supported by the CEO and guided by a clear vision. Over time, Baileys grew into the world’s number one liqueur, selling millions of cases each year.
